History
AltaView was founded in 2007 by the creators of All Sports Telemetry (AST) and BioCam. Prior to 2007, AltaView team members operated similar data service companies, bringing real-time information to sports and entertainment programming. AltaView team members also worked in technology and operations for the global leader in sports programming, ESPN, as well as in broadcasting and sports marketing at NBC.
The first national network to broadcast using the AltaView system was ESPN in the summer of 2006. ESPN’s NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) broadcast featured actual human heart rate showing BPM at high, low, and current levels. The AltaView system was utilized on several different NHRA drivers in top-fuel, funny-car, pro-stock and motorcycle pro-stock.
